GEOMETRIC FORM
AND MELODY

01

VISUAL PERSPECTIVE

Zoom sessions use an overhead camera, so my Innato position precisely reflects your playing perspective.

02

GEOMETRY

We use Xs, triangles, and other forms for clarity and memory.

03

MELODY & FORM

The Innato has six different tones, four octaves, and two unisons. Within this limited palette, Etudes use memorable melody and simple AB form—helping lock it all in so you can improvise and generate your own riffs.

WHAT ETUDE
PLAYERS SAY

“These Etudes help you develop finger independence and a deep understanding of harmonic structure and progression. They have also inspired my own melodic riffs and compositions.”

ALAN TOWER

Alan Tower playing the Innato

Alan Tower and maker Hans Houkes designed the Innato together in 2015. Alan began playing the Huaca in the 1990s—the complex, three-chambered instrument on which the Innato is based.

His eighteen albums of original acoustic music include two solo Huaca albums and an Innato album created with Hans Houkes.

I am very passionate about turning players on to these Etudes because I really see the difference they can make. My goal is to have the wind section of an orchestra all become Innato players, learning Etudes faster than lightning!
